The fifth annual Milari furniture exhibition opens in Helsinki; three of Erich’s chair designs are on display in the show.

Erich has a few pieces in the current issue of Metropolis: an article on Finnish design firm Company (p. 82), an illustrated map of Michigan (p. 182), and [bonus!] a contributor’s bio (p. 24). Plus, Erich’s interview with Irma Boom is published on Metropolis’ website, and plugged on Design Observer.

Erich designs identity and website for Finnish architecture firm AOA.

Erich arrives in Helsinki, Finland, and sets up shop at Anteeksi, in the Kallio district of the city. Not seeing much daylight this time of year, which makes for excellent working conditions.

Erich hosts an Election Day design workshop for students at Parsons The New School for Design.

Erich creates a new business identity for design-journalist Andrew Blum, then takes off for two quiet weeks writing on Fishers Island.

Erich Nagler is nominated for Print Magazine’s 2008 New Visual Artists.

Erich steps down as Assistant Art Director of Metropolis Magazine.

Company commissions Erich to write, design, and produce a book on their work, for a solo exhibition at the Finnish-Norwegian Cultural Institute in Oslo, Norway. (Pictured is the publishing assembly-line, leading up to the opening.)

Erich treks above the Arctic Circle to Lapland (on the Aurora Borealis Express), to get a taste of the life and landscape of northern Finland. Four frigid days buried in snow, and a side trip to Sweden.

Erich drives cross-country from Brooklyn, New York, to Portland, Oregon—the great American road trip (just as gas prices are skyrocketing).

Erich returns to New York City after six incredible months with the Anteeksi design collective in Helsinki, Finland, just in time for the 4th of July. (Back in the U.S.A.!)

Erich edits ‘Company Cookbook,’ published for Aamu Song and Johan Olin’s exhibit at the Milan Furniture Fair.

Erich takes a job designing children’s books for HarperCollins Publishers.

Erich’s illustration addressing the media’s vetting blitz on Sarah Palin, makes it onto the Op/Ed page of the New York Times.

Erich has an illustration in the current (September 2008) issue of Metropolis, diagramming the green roof of Renzo Piano’s California Academy of Sciences.
